Dallas CEREC Dental Crowns

Simple Way To Restore Your Smile

Your teeth can withstand a lot of pressure from eating foods and talking, but if one has been damaged, it needs to be treated as soon as possible to maintain your oral health. If a tooth has been chipped, cracked, or severely decayed, your Dallas, TX, dentist team may be able to help repair the harm with a dental crown. In some cases, we can repair the tooth in the same appointment so you can continue your day.

Dental Crowns Explained

Dental crowns are tooth-shaped caps that cover your tooth. They can be used after you have experienced an injury or decay to one of your pearly whites. Our team’s goal is to repair your smile without having to remove a large amount of the natural tooth’s structure. A cap can cover the entire damaged tooth, or we can use partials to correct only a section of the damaged tooth. For instance, onlays can be used to replace dental fillings. The material is added to the structure to repair and protect it. The goal with this restoration is to blend in naturally with your pearly whites and protect your smile after harm has been done. Dental crowns or onlays may be used to treat severe cavities, bruxism (teeth grinding), and more. They may also be used for cosmetic purposes like repairing the shape of a tooth or a crack.

Our Same-Day Options

Typically, it can take a few appointments to receive your dental crown. You may need to come in for an initial consultation and receive a temporary cap while the permanent one is created. Finally, the cap can be secured in place. Our team may be able to expedite this process by using CEREC technology to create your dental cap in the same day. When you come in for your visit, we will carefully examine your smile and assess the damage. If we believe a crown is necessary to restore the damage, we will take an impression of the area and send it to our on-site machine to create the cap. Once we create the cap, we will carefully secure it in place, allowing you to resume your work or school activities.

Taking Care Of Your Restoration

After your crown has been placed, it’s important to continue your regular oral hygiene routine. You should brush and floss twice a day and visit your dentist twice a year for checkups. You should be able to eat and talk comfortably with your dental crowns. If the restoration becomes damaged, call your dentist as soon as possible to have it repaired.
