Creating And Placing Your Crowns In One Visit

dallas cerec crowns

If you have cracked or chipped a tooth, or have one too decayed to be treated with a dental filling, then you may need a crown. With the CEREC system, we can not only treat your tooth with lifelike results, but we can do that in only one visit! Our Dallas, TX holistic dental office provides same-day CEREC crowns.

When a Tooth Needs a Custom Restoration

A dental crown is a full restoration that covers the entire visible portion of your smile. Our team can use them to address a variety of serious oral health concerns to preserve the health, function, and beauty of your smile. For example, crowns can repair chipped, cracked, or broken teeth, and address decay too severe for a filling. We can complete a root canal for an infected tooth, and correct misshapen teeth. Placement could be used to improve the balance of your bite and overall chewing function. We even use them to aid in tooth replacement, securing a bridge in place or restoring a single tooth dental implant.

The CEREC Placement Process

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. Using CAD/CAM technology, our team can design, create, and place a crown in only one visit. To begin, we will numb your tooth so you’re comfortable as we remove outer structure from the tooth. We then take detailed digital images and measurements of the prepared tooth, which we employ to design the restoration. Information is then uploaded into an onsite milling machine, which crafts the finished product from a solid block of ceramic. We then check the fit and if needed, make final adjustments to your finished product. The last step is to attach it with a powerful bonding agent. The entire process could take as little as 90 minutes, so you receive restoration in one visit instead of two to three!

The Benefits of Ceramic

Ceramic is a very strong and durable material which can handle the daily bite forces and pressures expected of your natural enamel. The material is biocompatible and bonds with your toothed true, so it can last for years to come, providing restoration that bonds with your smile. The material is also translucent like tooth enamel, and can be shaded to blend with your smile seamlessly.
